How does a child feel when a caretaker does not respond or stops responding to them?

It is normal that a caretaker cannot react to a child 100 percent of the time. But what if the caretaker does not react to the child on regular and daily basis? This gives the child great distress. They are feeling stress and need your reaction to feel on safe and secure again.

In this time it is normal to be on our phones a lot of the time, this may contribute to us not reacting in social situations. Depressed people may also be less responsive and have less facial expressions. This are just two examples, do you know other examples? When are you not responding to your child?

This video illustrates the importance of our reaction on our child.
